There are different materials for waterproofing membranes, and the names of polymer modified asphalt waterproofing membranes and SBS modified asphalt waterproofing membranes are very similar. What are the differences between them?
1. Different performance: Polymer modified asphalt waterproofing membrane is coated with synthetic polymer modified asphalt and based on fiber fabric or fiber felt. SBS modified asphalt waterproofing membrane is impregnated with SBS rubber modified petroleum asphalt primer.
2. Different characteristics: SBS modified asphalt waterproofing membrane has good high temperature resistance and can be used in the temperature range of -25 ℃ to+100 ℃. Polymer modified asphalt waterproofing membrane is modified by adding rubber or plastic resin to asphalt. Due to the low softening point of asphalt itself, its use as a waterproof material is limited.
3. Different thicknesses: The thickness of polymer modified asphalt waterproofing membrane is generally 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm, with asphalt base as the main body. SBS modified asphalt waterproof material is called a waterproof material with a width of 1000 millimeters.
