Regarding the construction of SBS waterproofing membrane, many people are not familiar with some of its details. So, what are the construction details of SBS waterproofing membrane?
1、 Base treatment:
① Removal of original exposed waterproof layer: Construction personnel must wear personal protective equipment before entering the site for construction. After entering the site, the aging waterproof layer on the leveling layer should be chiseled off until the original mortar protective layer base surface is reached;
② Clean the base surface of the mortar protective layer thoroughly and carry out leveling and repair, waiting for the next process to be carried out;
2、 Material inspection:
The size and appearance of SBS and APP rolls (large area materials and additional layer materials) must comply with the specifications and product manual requirements.
3、 Full adhesion of roll material:
Pre positioning to ensure accurate placement of the roll material. The base coat should be applied thinly, without any leakage or accumulation. After drying until it is no longer sticky to the touch, the hot melt should fully adhere to the roll material. When pasting, the roll material must not be stretched. After pasting, immediately use a rubber roller to roll forward and to both sides with force, exhaust the air, and make the roll firmly adhere to the base layer of the facade.
4、 Water treatment for parapet wall:
Add a layer of roll material or apply a layer of waterproof coating as an additional layer at the corner of the roof and vertical wall in the water overflow area. First, lay the roll material to the corner, leaving enough length for the vertical roll material. Then, apply the vertical roll material from bottom to top, and scrape and press it as it is laid. If there is a reserved groove at the end of the roll, the end of the roll should be cut and pressed into the groove, the pressure strip should be nailed, the sealing material should be sealed, and the groove should be sealed with cement mortar. The nail spacing shall not exceed 90mm. If there is no groove, use metal pressure strips or nails with washers to fix the end of the coil to the wall (nail spacing ≤ 900mm), seal it tightly with sealing material, then nail the metal or synthetic polymer coil cover plate, and seal the junction between the cover plate and the vertical wall with sealing material.
